Kristy Nicole Stokes of Peachtree City, a 2006 graduate of McIntosh High School has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2006 semester at Clayton State University.

Sandy Holcomb, local artist and retired educator, was selected as the 2007 president of the Fayette Society of Fine Arts (FSOFA). Holcomb is also a member of Fayette County Retired Educators Associaiton (FCREA). Holcomb's artwork is often seen at Arts Clayton in Jonesboro and the Fayette Art Center and Gallery. Her work is displayed at the Peachtree City Library and at an art gallery in Macon. FSOFA meets the second Monday of the month at the Heritage Bank on Jeff Davis Drive in Fayetteville. The meetings begin at 7 p.m. Any person interested in the arts is invited to attend.

• Air Force Airman Paul S. Meak has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations. In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force. He is the brother of Chanry Aun of Fayetteville, Ga. Meak graduated in 1997 from Mount Zion High School, Morrow, Ga., and received a bachelor's degree in 2002 from Devry University, Decatur, Ga.

Amanda Hitson, of Peachtree City, Ga., was among the 272 students named to the Reinhardt College dean’s list for fall semester 2006. A Reinhardt dean’s list student must maintain a 3.5 grade-point average based on successful completion of a minimum of 12 semester credits with no grade less than a B. With an enrollment of more than 1,000 students, Reinhardt College is a four-year liberal arts institution.
