To the most generous citizens of Fayette County: First of all, please forgive the tardiness of this letter. A combination of circumstances has prevented me from writing sooner.
That said, I would like to publicly thank all of you who once again came through for the kids this Christmas. Know that your generosity was evident on the faces of all of the children of deployed soldiers who benefited from your kindness.
The men and women who are so bravely serving our country need to know that while away their families are well-cared for. That is our mission, and all of you have stood up ably and reported for duty.
In addition to the many individual donors, I would like to thank the Republican Men and Women of Greater Fayette County, McIntosh High School Key Club, and WB Homes for their generous donations.
I hope and pray that I can count on your continued generosity throughout the year. In addition to Christmas, we support the children at Easter and during back to school.
The schools at Ft. Benning have also started a club for the children called the Deployment Club, where children can come and get a stuffed toy to hold until they can once again hug their mom or dad.
