PTC hosting Tour de Georgia start April 16; traffic congestion expected

Georgia officials have unveiled the specific route the Tour de Georgia will take as the entire event starts in Peachtree City at noon on Monday, April 16.

Vehicle traffic will have to be blocked off along the route for a short time proceeding the race, and officials are urging motorists to avoid the area if possible immediately prior to and during the race launch.

Bikers will leave the start line at the library’s parking lot then heading east on Ga. Highway 54 to Peachtree Parkway. Turning south there, the peleton will take the parkway all the way to Robinson Road, where they will turn right and head toward Redwine Road.

From there, the bikers will turn left onto Ga. Highway 74, heading south and they will then snake onto Ga. Highway 85 briefly before turning right onto the Hwy. 85 Connector and traveling into Brooks.

The peleton will remain on the 85 Connector as it exits into Spalding County.
