Education is taken seriously at Coweta-Fayette EMC. That’s why the company believes it is among their corporate responsibilities to support local students and the educational systems within their service area.

Thus they have established the Melissa Segars Memorial Scholarship and the Vocational & Technical Scholarships, both of which are funded through the EMC’s Operation Round Up Program.

Since beginning the scholarships in 1994, $324,900 has been awarded to students to further their education.

These scholarships are available in $3,000, $2,000 and $1,500 amounts. The applications can be picked up at your high school counselor’s office or simply by visiting the company’s website at www.utility.org and going to “for your community,” then “schools.”

Applicants must be graduating seniors who reside in Coweta-Fayette EMC’s service area and have been accepted at an accredited college, university or technical college. Applications must be turned in to the Coweta-Fayette EMC office by March 1.
