Christ Our Hope Lutheran church will begin the Lenten season with two communion services on Ash Wednesday at noon (a spoken service) and 7 p.m.

Services will follow each Wednesday with a service of prayer and communion at 7 p.m. Brief meditations will provide the focus for each service sand there will be a time of silent prayer and meditation.

Services are planned for Wednesday, Feb. 28, and the following Wednesdays, March 7, 14, 21 and 28.

Other pre-Easter events include a Palm Sunday Procession of the Palms at 8:30 and 11 a.m. on April 1, a Maundy Thursday Communion Service scheduled for April 5 at noon and 7 p.m., and a Good Friday Service of Tenebrae planned for April 6 at 7:30 p.m.

Christ Our Hope, a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), is at 2165 Ga. Hwy. 138, Riverdale, just across the Fayette County line.
