Mr. and Mrs. Larry David Hightower of Tyrone announce the engagement of their daughter, Lisa Elizabeth, to Joshua Andrew Emrich, son of Dr. and Mrs. William J. Emrich, Jr. of Huntsville, Ala. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold B. Goza of Fayetteville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Homer Warren Flury of Atlanta. She attended Landmark Christian School and was graduated from Sandy Creek High School in 2003. During her junior and senior years at Sandy Creek, she participated in a dual enrollment program and, in 2003, was graduated from The Georgia Academy of Mathematics Engineering and Science at Middle Georgia College with an asscociates degree in physics. In May of 2006, she was graduated with highest honors from The Georgia Institute of Technology and received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. While at Georgia Tech she served as president of Pi Tau Sigma, the mechanical engineering honor society, received the Outstanding Senior Award for Mechanical Engineering, and studied abroad at Georgia Tech Lorraine in Metz, France. She presently is a product engineer with Siemens Energy and Automation in Norcross. The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Emrich, Sr. of Houston, Texas and Mr. and Mrs. Richard O. Wornat of Pearl River, La. A 2000 honor graduate of Virgil I. Grissom High School in Huntsville, Ala., he attended Covenant College in Chattanooga, Tenn. for one year and received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in August, 2005. He currently is a design engineer with Bell Helicopter in Ft. Worth, Texas. The wedding will be Saturday, July 28, 2007, at The First Baptist Church of Newnan. Following a honeymoon to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Ft. Worth, Texas. login to post comments |
