These recalls were issued this week from Feb. 4 to Feb. 8 by various federal and state agencies. EASY-BAKE OVENS POSE ENTRAPMENT AND BURN HAZARD Easy-Bake, a division of Hasbro, Inc., of Pawtucket, R.I. is recalling Easy-Bake Ovens sold nationwide from May 2006 to February 2007. Young children can insert their hands into the oven’s opening and get their hands or fingers caught, posing an entrapment and burn hazard. The Easy-Bake Oven is a purple and pink plastic oven that resembles a kitchen range with four burners on top and a front-loading oven. “Easy Bake” is printed on the front of the oven. Model number 65805 and “Hasbro” are stamped into the plastic on the back of the oven. Ovens sold before May 2006 are not included in this recall. Consumers should contact Easy-Bake at (800) 601-8418 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. ET 7 days a week to receive a free retrofit kit with consumer warning. CURLING IRONS POSE SHOCK HAZARD Conair Corp. is recalling Curling Irons sold nationwide from November 2005 to July 2006. The handle of the curling iron can come apart exposing its line cord, posing a shock or electrocution hazard to consumers. This recall involves ceramic, gold-matte finish curling irons. A four-digit date code can be found on the plug prong. Date codes included in this recall range from November 2005 through July 2006 (ex. 0706). The name “Conair” is printed on the handle of the iron. Consumers should contact Conair at (800) 687-6916 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. ET Monday through Friday to receive a free replacement. BEAN INFANT BOOTIES POSE CHOKING HAZARD LL Bean is recalling Faux-Shearling Infant Booties sold by LL Bean from July 2006 to December 2006. A small metal zipper tab on the infant booties can detach posing a choking hazard. The booties are sold in infant sizes 1-6. The booties were sold in a tan or pink suede. They have rubber soles and a zipper closure at the ankle. “L.L. Bean” is printed in white letters on the soles of the booties. The size and stock #BNK1 are printed on a tag inside the booties. CHILDREN’S RINGS SOLD AT FAMILY DOLLAR STORES CONTAIN LEAD Shalom International Corp., of New York, N.Y. is recalling Children’s “Rachael Rose Kidz” Rings sold at Family Dollar stores from December 2005 to January 2007. The jewelry contains high levels of lead. The children’s rings are silver or gold-colored with designs or stones in a variety of colors. “Kidz by Rachael Rose,” “Family Dollar $1” and “SKU 1905580” are printed on the packaging. Consumers should return the rings to any Family Dollar store for a full refund. CHILDREN’S BRACELETS CONTAIN LEAD DM Merchandising Inc., of Elmhurst, Ill. is recalling Children’s “Ultra Gear” Bracelets sold nationwide from July 2004 to January 2007. The jewelry contains high levels of lead. The recalled bracelets are 8-inch long, silver-colored chain bands that have a 1 ? -inch long casting with assorted designs, including a snake and a sword. Consumers should return the recalled jewelry to the store where purchased. PRESSURE COOKERS SOLD BY HSN CAN CAUSE BURN INJURIES HSN LP (previously referred to as the Home Shopping Network), of St. Petersburg, Fla. is recalling Bella Cucina Brand “Zip Cooker” Low Pressure Cookers sold nationwide by HSN from February 2003 to June 2004. Hot food under pressure can be expelled from the cooker causing burn injuries. The recalled product is a Bella Cucina “Zip Cooker,” model number 03908. The name and model number are on the bottom of the pot. Consumers who do not receive a direct notice should contact HSN at (800) 837-0372 anytime for instructions on how to receive a full refund. Consumers can also visit TODDLER PANT SETS POSE CHOKING HAZARD G & W Industries Inc., of New York, N.Y. is recalling Toddler Pants Sets Sold at Meijer Stores nationwide from October 2006 to December 2006. The zipper pull on the jacket can detach, posing a choking hazard. This recall involves “Little Lass” toddler pants sets sold with a velour jacket and pants, and a tee-shirt. The sets were sold in red and black, and have the words, “Snow Angel” printed on the front of the jacket. Sizes included in the recall are 2T, 3T and 4T. Consumers should immediately return the recalled pants sets to the nearest Meijer Store for a full refund.
