The McIntosh Chiefs Wrestling Team celebrated the wrestling careers of Bryce Hughey and Landis Ford with a decisive win over Mundys Mill 52 to 24. Both Hughey and Ford finished their regular season careers with wins over their opponent by pin. After the match Coach Nick Bellantoni said, “It has been a pleasure having Bryce and Landis as a part of McIntosh Wrestling for the past 4 years. I have watched as both of them have grown into competitive wrestlers but more importantly into fine young men. That’s more important than win-loss records.” Hughey is a co-captain of this year’s squad and is a two-year letterman for the Chiefs. He is a member of the McIntosh Beta and French clubs and will be attending the Air Force Academy next year. Hughey started wrestling in 7th grade at Booth Middle School. Ford is a four-year letterman and state qualifier for the McIntosh wrestling program. He began his wrestling career at Booth Middle School and the Fayette County Thrashers. He will soon be making his college decision between Auburn, Georgia Southern and University of Toledo. Other McIntosh wrestlers winning their matches include Jarrod Chamblee at 112lbs, Matt Lein 119lbs, Gavin Carlson 125lbs, Jesse Toscanno 135lbs, Jacob Worthington 171lbs, Erik Willanzheimer 189lbs and Matt Carroll 215lbs. |
