Michael Lethbridge, a sophomore in the A.J. Palumbo School of Business Administration, has been named to the fall 2006 dean's list at Duquesne University. The dean's list recognizes full-time students who have maintained at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, with no grade lower than a C. Lethbridge is the son of Mark and Linda Lethbridge of Fayetteville, Ga. and a 2005 graduate of Our Lady of Mercy High School.

Jessica King, of Fayetteville; Sarah Condit and Robert Shatto, both of Peachtree City; and Avery Clay, of Tyrone have all been named to the North Georgia College & State University president’s list for their academic performances during fall semester 2006. Students achieving a 4.0 grade point average and carrying 12 or more credit hours in one semester are placed on the president’s list.

• Governor Sonny Perdue recently named Fayetteville resident Gael E. Gilbert, RN, 55, to the Advisory Council to the Office of Women’s Health. Gilbert is managing director of professional nursing services at Southern Regional Medical Center. She is a member of the Georgia Organization of Nurse Executives, the American Organization of Nurse Executives, the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses and Sigma Theta Tau, a nursing honor society. Gilbert earned a bachelor’s degree from Alfred University and master’s degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Wake Forest University.

Monique Lehmann, of Fayetteville, was named to the dean’s list at Mississippi University for Women students for the fall 2006 semester. To qualify for the dean’s list, the students must be enrolled full-time and have a quality point average of 3.5 to 3.99 on a 4.0 scale.

• SPC Robert Tyler Bland recently deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His unit s 1st Battalion 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 82nd Airborn Division out of Ft. Bragg, Fayetteville, N.C. Bland is a 2004 graduate of Fayette County High School and the son of Shirley and Mike Mathis of Fayetteville and Mike Bland of Newnan.
