Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin alerts consumers that some Lesley Elizabeth sun-dried tomato products are being recalled because they contain sulfites without listing them on the label.

The products included in this recall are: Chunky Guacamole in 8 oz. and 225 ml. jars; Garden Vegetable Seasoning in 8 oz., 125 ml. and 225 ml. jars; Brown Basmati Rice in 8 oz. tubes with a sample bag of Dried Tomato Seasoning included in the tube; Short Brown Rice in 1.28 oz. tubes with a sample bag of Garden Vegetable Seasoning included in the tube; Pasta For Two Dried Tomato in 1.28 oz. tubes with a sample bag of Dried Tomato Seasoning included in the tube; Pasta For Two Garden Vegetable in 1.28 oz. tubes with a sample bag of Garden Vegetable Seasoning included in the tube; Dried Tomato Pesto in 4 oz. jars and Sundried Tomato Dipping Oil in 8.5 oz., 10 oz. and 12 oz. bottles.

“Anyone who has an allergy to sulfites runs the risk of an allergic reaction,” Irvin says. “Georgians who have purchased the products should return them to their place of purchase for a full refund.”

Those with allergies to sulfites may experience at reaction that varies from mild to life threatening, officials say. There is no risk to individuals who are not allergic to sulfites.
