By: The Citizen
On Saturday, November 12, Quail Ridge Farm and the Classic Show Series played host to the final horse show in the 2005 season, a benefit for the Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation. The benefit show was devised in early 2004 to honor the memory of the late Jean Jones, mother of one of the farm’s trainer as well as the mothers, sisters and siblings of several of the farm’s boarders and students. The benefit show itself featured a hunter classic class of which all of the proceeds were donated along with 100% of the admission gate’s proceeds to both foundations.
“For more than 20 years, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has been a global leader in the fight against breast cancer through its support of the innovative research and community-based outreach programs. “The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation creates a future of hope for children and families worldwide by eradicating pediatric AID, providing care and treatment for people with HIV/AIDS, and accelerating the discovery of new treatments for other serious and life-threatening pediatric illnesses. Quail Ridge Farm and the Classic Show Series would like thank all of the exhibitors and spectators who participated in this wonderful event. In addition, the farm celebrates the end of the season with its annual awards gala, held at the Wyndham Peachtree Hotel & Conference Center on Saturday, December 10th, 2005. A limited number of tickets are available. Tickets are $40 per adult, $35 per child. The event is semi-formal.
