ECHS swim team does well at Clarke-Oconee meet

The Indians scored big at the Clarke-Oconee Invitational on Saturday. The Indians had a combined score of 265 which put them in 7th place out of 30 teams represented. The boys placed sixth with a score of 161 points and the girls placed 10th with 104 points.

The meet started off with a bang with the Girls 200 Medley Relay Team of Alex Kralman, Sarah Ferguson, Myranda Kralman and Miranda Moore qualified for state with a time of 2:07.63. The Indians continued their momentum with the very next event where Jamie Wright qualified for state in the 200 Free with a time of 1:54.49. The Indians kept it going with Robert Angsten qualified in the 50 Free with a time of 23.19. And then Jason Weeks qualified in the 50 Free with a 23.31. The Girls 200 Free Relay Team of Alex Kralman, Myranda Kralman, Krystal Hynson and Miranda Moore iced the cake by qualifying with a time of 1:54.00.

The Indians have had an incredible season with 10 swimmers qualifying for the State competition. This is definately a record for the Indians. The Indians will compete at State in the Boys 200 Free Relay, Boys 200 Medley relay, Boys 4X100 Free Relay, Girls 200 Free Relay, Girls 200 Medley Relay. The Indians will also compete in individual races: Jason Weeks in the 50 and 100 free, Jamie Wright in the 200 Free, Robert Angsten in the 50 Free and Myranda Kralman in the 100 Free.
