By: The Citizen
Sen. Mitch Seabaugh (R-Newnan) is pleased to announce the 2007 Page Day at the State Capitol. There are 20 spots available, on a first come-first served basis. Pages are students ages 12 and up. They are granted access to the Senate Chamber for the day and are responsible for delivering messages to the Senators on the Senate floor, and other special duties as assigned. "Students are the future leaders of tomorrow," Seabaugh said. "This is an excellent opportunity for them to learn about American Politics in a way that can't be learned from textbooks." The pages receive a $10 honorarium, and a special “working lunch” with Sen. Seabaugh. The students will be granted an excused absence from school on the day of service. Any parent interested in learning more about the page progran can contact Sen. Mitch Seabaugh at the State Capitol at 404.656.6446. login to post comments |
