Clyde Houston Rainwater, 92, Fayetteville, died Jan. 26, 2007. He was born April 10, 1915 in Fairburn, son of Felton and Verna Rainwater. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nelle Rainwater. He was retired from the Civil Service at the Atlanta Army Depot in 1970. After retirement he served as Chaplin of NARFE, Flint River chapter, and was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Fayette County. He also worked in the Fayette County Clerk of Court’s office for 15 years. He was a member of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday School, and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Services were at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Westmoreland, the Rev. Bob Partridge, and the Rev. Fred Shellnut officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Cemetery, College Park. Survivors include sons, Joe and Sandra Rainwater, Griffin, and Jerry and Peggy Rainwater, Fayetteville; daughters, Barbara and Mike Hemperley, Fayetteville, and Mardelle and Don McEntire, Gainesville; brothers, George Rainwater, James "J. A." Rainwater; sisters, Mozelle Doby, Florie Boone, Florine Irwin, Gensie McDonald; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Carl J.
