Lee Roy Bailey, 90, Brooks, died Jan. 26, 2007. He was born April 23, 1916 in Fayette County, son of Samuel and Mamie Whatley Bailey. He was a retired sales representative of Pilot Freight Carriers. Services were at Lisbon Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Randal Harris and the Rev. Carlton Swicegood officiating. Interment was at the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Omie Lee Bailey, Brooks; a brother, James W. Bailey, Fayetteville; a son, Richard C. and Vickie Bailey, Eufala, Ala. ; a daughter, Cheryl and Charles Miller, Bowdon; granddaughters, Michelle Conerly, Stacie Day, Laurie Fleck, Shayna Bailey, Summer Bailey, and Whitney Veneziani; great-grandchildren Caroline Conerly, Sam Conerly, Latson Conerly, and Emie Fleck; nephews, Samuel Jones, Bobby Kerlin, Larry Jones, and Tommy Kerlin; and a niece, Janelle Jones Taylor. Memorial donations may be made to Lisbon Baptist Church. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
