The same fitness components used to train athletes are essential to the average person. The Fayette County Recreation Department is urging local citizens to get in shape while improving their athletic performance by enrolling in the outdoor fitness program. Program organizers promise that students will be challenged, the competition will be exciting and their knowledge level of fitness will be enhanced.

This program, taught by a Certified Personal Trainer, offers a realistic program of exercise aimed at achieving physical fitness goals, speed & agility, muscle strength, control of excess body fat and personal appearance.

Among the things that each class will offer are a dynamic warm-up, work on joint integrity/core strength, technique drills, strength training, plyometrics, reaction drills and much more.
The program is offered to adults on Saturdays from 1-2 p.m. at McCurry Park in Fayetteville. The fee is $30 per four week session. Sessions are Feb. 10-March 10 with no class on Feb. 24 and March 17-Apr. 21 with no class on March 31 or Apr. 7.

If you like outdoor activities, dislike going to the gym, or just want something different, then this is the program for you. Now is the time to make a lifestyle adjustment to better your health, better your appearance, and to get and stay in shape!

Advance registration is required. For more information, call the Fayette County Parks and Recreation Department at 770-716-4320.
