Four homes in the new Clifton Lakes subdivision off Jeff Davis Drive were burglarized over the weekend, with appliances taken from all four, Fayetteville police said.

None of the homes in Clifton Lakes are occupied yet, and the crime was discovered when real estate agents went to show the homes and contractors came to the scene Saturday and Sunday, police said. The appliances stolen included stoves, microwaves and the like, according to Lt. Beverly Trainor.

The Fayetteville Police Department is investigating that case and two apparently unrelated burglaries, one of which also occurred in a vacant home on Meadowbrook Court where nothing was taken, police said. The other burglary occurred at a home on Winona Drive where two DVD players were taken, police said.

Police are looking into the possibility that all six burglaries might be related.
