Partners II Pizza turns 30

Partner’s II Pizza celebrated their 30-year anniversary this month. The Peachtree City establishment is well-known for their great-tasting pizza and has been a fixture in the community since they first opened their doors in the Aberdeen Village Shopping Center off of Highway 54.

Owners Jim and Marilyn Royal take pride in their unique pizzas, some of which have won awards across the county. The Road Runner pizza won second place in the Las Vegas “Pizza of the Year” contest. It comes topped with chipotle pepper pesto, smoked Gouda cheese, fried chicken tenders, red onions, red and green peppers and finished with Wisconsin smoked provolone cheese, and is one of the most unique pizzas being served in Peachtree City.

According to the Royals, the Baked Potato pizza is another community favorite and is exactly what is sounds like - a baked potato on a pizza. Sour cream is spread on the crust and then covered with layered slices of potato topped with all the traditional baked potato favorites, including green onions, bacon bits and cheddar cheese.

Once people discover the restaurant, most of them return. “We have had lots of regulars over the years,” Marilyn Royal says. “Now they are bringing in their grandchildren.” When the restaurant remodeled a few years ago, one loyal customer even requested to keep an old booth because he had proposed to his wife in that very spot.

Speaking of romantic gestures, Partners II Pizza holds such a special place in the heart of its owners that they even chose to get married in the restaurant and recently celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary.

The Royals credit their employees as one of the main factors in the long success of the restaurant. The business employs many high school and college students from the community and many choose to stay with Partner’s II Pizza long-term.

“We have managers still with us who started here when they were in high school, and we always make room for former employees who come back,” Marilyn says.

Jim Royal starting working in the pizza business while he was still a student in college at Florida State University. After graduation, he went on to own several pizza establishments before opening Partner’s II Pizza. Although the restaurant is called Partner’s II, there is no Partner’s I. The restaurant’s name is modeled after Joe Namath’s New York restaurant called Bachelors II.

“We love seeing our friends and customers leave here feeling satisfied with their experience,” Marilyn says. These satisfied customers have helped Partner’s II Pizza grow over the years to now include locations in Newnan, Tyrone and a franchise store in Fayetteville.

“We are truly lucky and thankful for the support we have received from the wonderful community over the past 30 years,” Marilyn says.

Partner’s II Pizza is located at 215 Northlake Drive in Peachtree City, in the Aberdeen Village Shopping Center. For more information, call 770-487-9393 or visit www.partnerspizza.com.
