McIntosh wins Chatham County InvitationalFri, 01/26/2007 - 9:50am

The McIntosh High School Swim Team closed the season on a victorious note, winning the Chatham County Invitational overall title. The men finished first and the women took second in the 10-team meet in Savannah. The Chiefs had a near-sweep of the men’s 200-freestyle with sophomore Alex Harmon first, junior Brian Forsyth third and junior Kevin Kim fourth. Harmon added a first in the 200-individual medley. The men’s relay teams also turned in strong performances, with firsts in the 200-medley relay and 400-freestyle relay (Harmon, sophomore Adam Otaki, junior Corbin Heard and freshman Jim Roddenbery), and third in the 400-freestyle relay (Forsyth, junior Kevin Dietze, sophomore Marcus Burk and junior Mason Davis). Other top men finishers for the Chiefs included Otaki second and Roddenbery third in the 100-breast stroke; Roddenbery second in the 500-freestyle, and Heardthird in the 100-backstroke. The women were led by senior Nicole Roddenbery, who captured firsts in the 50-freestyle and 100-butterfly. Junior Keaton Hannon placed third in the 200-individual medley and sophomore Allison Gair finished third in the 100-breast stroke. The women also took second in the 200-medley relay (Roddenbery, Hannon, Gair and senior Rose Tortora), and third in the 200-freestyle relay (Roddenbery, Hannon, Tortora and sophomore Sarah Trapaga). login to post comments |
