Red Cross Southern district office to relocateTue, 01/23/2007 - 4:35pm
By: The Citizen
Friday is moving day for the Southern District Office of the Metro Atlanta Red Cross. The Red Cross office, serving Butts, Clayton, Fayette and Henry counties, is leaving its Mount Zion Rd. location in Morrow to share new office space in the national American Red Cross Disaster Field Supply Center in Forest Park, near the Georgia State Farmer's Market. In addition to gaining more space for training and client services, the new Red Cross office, located at 5165 Kennedy Road, Suite 200, is more centrally located to the most disaster-prone areas it serves. This will enhance the response time for Red Cross Disaster Action Team volunteers when fires and other emergencies occur. The 24-hour, toll-free help line for individuals experiencing a disaster-related emergency remains the same throughout metro Atlanta: 1-866-RC-HELPS (1-866-724-3577). Regular office hours are 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, will begin at the Forest Park location on Monday, Jan. 29.
