Local ‘Toys for Tots’ dropoff starts FridayTue, 11/22/2005 - 5:17pm
By: The Citizen
The Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty organization’s offices will begin accepting donations for the annual U. S. Marine Corps Reserve “Toys for Tots” campaign Friday, Nov. 25. The current campaign is the 58th annual “Toys for Tots” drive, and this is the 24th year that Coldwell Banker Bullard has participated in the effort. The final day for bringing items at the Bullard organization’s offices is Monday, Dec. 19. Jerry Nesbitt, managing broker for the Peachtree City/Fayette County office, is once again coordinating the project for the Bullard organization. The real estate organization’s offices are serving only as collection points. Coldwell Banker Bullard does not distribute toys, as this is done through local churches, local Department of Family and Children Services offices, or the Marines. Area residents wanting to contribute can drop off a new, unwrapped toy at a Coldwell Banker Bullard office, Coldwell Banker American Land Mart, or one of the other collection points, and the Marines will do the rest, distributing the toys to needy children through local charitable organizations. The Web address for the campaign in the Atlanta area is www.atlantatoysfortots.com. For those preferring to contribute money to the campaign, a check made out to “Marine Toys for Tots Foundation” will be accepted. Coldwell Banker Bullard offices are located at 238 Stockbridge Rd., Jonesboro; 4295 Jodeco Rd., McDonough; 658 West Third Street, Jackson; 1968-A Hwy. 54 West, Fayetteville (just outside the eastern city limits of Peachtree City); on 1605 East Hwy. 34, Newnan; and 122-A South 13th St. in Griffin. There are two collections points in Conyers, the Coldwell Banker Bullard office at 1070 Iris Dr. SW and the office of an affiliated company, Coldwell Banker American Land Mart, at 889 Commerce Dr. (Ste. A). The “Toys for Tots” campaign has grown from a small project in the Los Angeles area to nationwide effort. The campaign has the support of a wide array of other organizations, groups, committees, local businesses, and national corporations. login to post comments |
