Lyla Lind Opfer, 89, Peachtree City, died Nov. 14, 2005. She was born Oct. 24, 1916 in Lake County, Minn. Memorial services were at Carmichael-Hemperley chapel. Survivors include her children, Tom and Deloris Opfer Jr., Daytona Beach, Fla., Larry and Nancy Herfert, Excelsior, Minn., Anna and Charlie Nelson, Peachtree City, and Barney Opfer, Sandy Springs; grandchildren, Darleen Opfer, Jessica Opfer, Leslie Kohler, Julie Opfer, Adam Nelson, Lyla Nelson, and Ryan Opfer; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 2452 Spring Road, Smyrna, GA 30080. Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge.
