Opal W. Malcom, 85, Union City, died Jan. 15, 2007. She was born June 6,1921 in Cullman, Ala. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Royce Malcom. She belonged to Southside Baptist Church for over 30 years. Services were at the Parrott Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. S. R. Jones, the Rev. Paul Carder, and the Rev. Ron Whitlock Sr. officiating. Interment was at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta. Survivors include sisters-in-law, Mattie Wright, Moody, Ala., Vivian Patterson, Huntsville, Ala., and Hilda Jones, Sara and Thomas Kennedy, and Brenda Davidson, all of Waleska,; a nephew, William Q. and Patricia Wright Jr., Palmetto, Fla.; and nieces, Patricia and Tom Joiner, Senoia, Cathy and George Creasman, Moody, Ala., Katherine and Ray Waters, Ballground, Diane and Scott Stith, Portsmouth, Ohio, and Linda Carol and Loren Emery, Douglasville. Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge.
