Clarence Eugene "Gene" Allbritton Jr., 67, Fayetteville, died Jan. 9, 2007. He was born Oct. 7, 1939 in Camilla, Mitchell County, Ga. He was preceded in death by sons, Britt Allbritton, and Matthew Allbritton, and parents, C. E. and Mattie H. Allbritton Sr. He was a member of Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church, the Riverdale Masonic Lodge #709 F& AM, and the Scottish Rite. He was a veteran and served 26 years active, reserve, and auxiliary in the United State Air Force. He retired from Eastern Airlines after 25 years of service. He enjoyed flying, fishing, hunting, farming, golf and camping. Services were at Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church, Riverdale, with the Rev. Jeffrey M. Halenza officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, College Park. The Riverdale Masonic Lodge was in charge of graveside services. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Diane Allbritton, Fayetteville; daughters, Melissa Wilson, and Cathy and Dan Graham; sisters, Gail and William Quattlebaum, Carrollton, Judy and Ed Joyner, Jackson, and Tara and James Allbritton, Gadsden, Ala.; and mother-in-law, Mildred Moeller, Seymour, Wis. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 135 Bradford Square, Fayetteville, GA 30214 or Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church, 2165 Hwy. 138, Riverdale, GA 30296. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
