Whitewater chorus seeks costuming helpThu, 01/11/2007 - 2:23pm

Volunteers from Whitewater High School in Fayetteville are currently hunting for costuming and accessories which will be used by the many choral students during the upcoming March performances of the annual "Whitewater Spectacular" musical production. The volunteers hope that their efforts will reduce expenses for the students and their families. The production will feature some Broadway musical numbers and vintage clothing is requested. Volunteers are currently visiting vintage shops, local thrift stores, flea markets and anywhere such clothing might be available for purchase. A number of the costume items are being made but there are some items volunteers hope are in a forgotten closet in the community. “We would love to put the following items to good use for anyone who doesn't have the heart to throw them away!” stated volunteer Wendy Binfield, a parent of a WHS senior chorus student. Some of the items being requested by the chorus include: six large-brimmed, floppy bridesmaid-type hats (in creme or pastel colors), six men's white, fancy "puffy" pirate shirts, one man's white, dressy suit (jacket with pants though not a tux), five men's white dressy suit jackets (i.e. Ricky Ricardo style), one women's size 12/14 brightly-colored 40s-50s suit jacket and skirt (i.e., straight with kick pleat, bow at the back, etc.), one dark grey or black hat, similar to one worn by Liza Doolittle in “My Fair Lady” as she sang "Wouldn't It Be Loverly," and 12 white or grey with navy pinstripe baseball uniform shirts and pants, navy socks and belts. If you or someone you know have any of these items or in any way would like to aid the Whitewater High School chorus, please contact Wendy Binfield at 770-310-0596. login to post comments |
