Eva Burch Hardin

Eva Burch Hardin, 76, Alexander N.C., formerly of Fayetteville, died Dec. 31, 2006. She was born Nov. 26, 1930 in Fayette County, daughter of the late Walter Lee and Verna Roberts Burch. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Grant Hardin, and a sister, Commander Mary Jean Burch, USN. She was a graduate of Berry College and taught in Rome, Ga., for three years at Model High School, eight years at Johnson High School, and returned to Fayetteville. Here she taught Home Economics and Occupational Child Care for 20 years until her retirement. She was a member of Retired Teachers Association and a lifetime member of the Inman United Methodist Church. She enjoyed many years of teaching Sunday School, serving on various church committees and watching the church grow. She loved her church community. Services were at the Inman United Methodist Church with the Rev. Royeese Stowe officiating. Interment was at the church cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Alice Ann Hardin, Alexander, N.C.; brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Fields Burch, Fayetteville, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Gray Burch, Dallas, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. John Marcellus Burch, Kingston, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. William Abb Burch, Jonesboro, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Merritt Burch, Lancaster, S.C., and Mr. and Mrs. Iris Roberts Burch, Gainesville, Ga.; sisters, Mrs. Bessie Vada Burch Buttram, Blue Ridge, and Colvin and Sarah Frances Burch Crumbley, Stockbridge; and a sister-in-law, Mary Alice Hardin, Tucker. Memorial donations may be made to the Inman United Methodist Church, 151 Hill's Bridge Road, Fayetteville, GA 30215. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
