This is in response to Kim Learnard’s recent letter. Kim, I agree with quite a few of your listed awards, definitely numbers 10, 5, 4, 2 and 1 (some I don’t have an opinion on), but I think you forgot one — or should have added the Grand Prize Award to one that goes above and beyond even the #1 position:

George W. Bush, who has been quoted to say, “I’m the commander — see, I don’t need to explain — I do not need to explain why I say things. That’s the interesting thing about being president.”

How’s that for a statement for a “Sit Down and Shut Up” award?

And to Tim Parker, whose letters I always enjoy reading, you can purchase, as I have, a calendar entitled, “The Out of Office Countdown.” As of today, Jan. 4, dear ol’ Bush has 747 days left in office, or 305 days to Election Day. Sometimes a little laughter helps in the face of disaster.
