Mrs. Elizabeth Bartlett Loftin of Peachtree City and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Wayne Loftin of Manchester announce the engagement of their daughter, Lynley Elizabeth Loftin, to Bennett Russell Hipps, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Lynn Hipps of Columbus. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Blake Bartlett of Woodland, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Loftin of Manchester. She is a 1996 graduate of McIntosh High School in Peachtree City. She received her bachelor of arts degree in German and English from Furman University in Greenville, S.C., and her master of arts degree in professional communication from Clemson University in Clemson, S.C. She is employed as an instructional designer with TSYS in Columbus. The groom-to-be is the grandson of the late Capt. and Mrs. John R. Smith of Brunswick, and the late Mr. and Mrs. James R. Hipps of Eatonton. A 1995 graduate of Columbus High School in Columbus, he received his bachelor of arts degree in English from the University of Georgia. He is employed as a technical communicator with TSYS. The wedding will be Saturday, June 2, 2007, at the John A. Sibley Horticultural Center at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain.
