Bring on more conservative writers; send liberals to seek solace in AJCTue, 11/22/2005 - 4:39pm
By: Letters to the ...
Ack! I violated one of my rules of life and neglected to check who wrote that three-column letter until it was too late. Usually, I’ll spot a typical letter from Messrs. Finnegan or Parker and just skip it, knowing they are as biased, myopic and anti-American as they are articulate, but [the Nov. 9] column layout fooled me, something in the middle caught my eye and I started reading. Before long the “Who the **** is this idiot?” screaming in my head made me go check the sender’s name(s): ah, that explains it. Only a leftist “useful idiot” would equate the current war with Vietnam, or George Bush’s taking REAL action with the lies Johnson used to drag us into Southeast Asia. Then there’s the ridiculous claim that McCarthy’s quest to identify and neutralize the Communists in our midst should be discounted because he drank. Why is it that it’s not PC to be anti-Communist but you libs can idolize a besotted, disingenuous hack who left a young campaign worker to drown over the course of an hour while he went to dry off and arrange damage control? But then I guess that’s pretty typical for those who’d defend the poseur Kerry while trying to make scores of heroic Swift Boat vets out to be liars. Maybe if some of you NORMAL folks out there like ArmyMAJretired, priusowner and, yes, even Trey Hoffman would try to fill the available space, the editor might have to start choosing which letters to print and these “liberals,” “progressives” and pacifists would go back to competing for space in the AJC, where their brethren all reside and they can all congratulate each other on their incredible insight. And, editor, I’ve missed a couple of Ann Coulter’s columns; please carry more of her hilarious insights. She always rebuts the Left’s latest outrageous accusation in a manner that throws their insults right back at them and, oh, doesn’t it make them mad! Gary Rettmann |
