Police looking into four allegations of arm injuries at Magnolia Park Day Care

Fayetteville police confirmed Wednesday afternoon that they are investigating two additional reports of young children being injured at the Magnolia Park day care center.

Last week police arrested an employee there on a felony charge of cruelty to children based on a 14-month-old child whose arm was broken in two places. Trista Bowlden, 22, of Griffin,

At the time of Bowlden's arrest, police confirmed they were also looking into a similar incident that occurred Dec. 1 with a 2-month-old baby but the investigation was slowed somewhat because of multiple suspects, police said.

The two newly-reported incidents involve a 9-month-old who was hurt in August 14 and a 14-month-old who was hurt Sept. 11. In both those cases, the victims had arm injuries, police said.

An attorney for the child whose injury led to Bowlden's arrest said the child's arm was broken in two places and the parents were told he had fallen off a child-size picnic table. But three doctors reviewed the injury and said there is no way that could have happened, said attorney Eldridge Suggs IV.
