By: The Citizen
As the Coweta County guardian and estate administrator for the past nine years, Mike Sumner knows a good deal about handling estates. He shared some of his knowledge and insights when he spoke to the Newnan Kiwanis recently. “Executing an estate can be a very complicated affair and take a lot of time,” Sumner said. “I advise executors to take their position seriously and treat it as if it were a business.” He went on to offer tips and encouraged everyone to make sure they have a will and power of attorney set up so their assets are dispensed according to their wishes. Speakers at the Newnan Kiwanis cover a variety of interesting and informative topics. The Newnan Kiwanis Club meets every Tuesday for lunch from 12-1 p.m. at the Special Events Center, 299 Bullsboro Drive in Newnan.
