Karen Jean Heckman, 61, Fayetteville, died Dec. 28, 2006. She was born Feb. 4, 1945 in Milwaukee, Wisc. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanine Kay Shickles, and parents, Lenard and Edna Bandlow. She was graduated from East Rockford High School in 1963, and was graduated from the Swedish American School of Nursing in 1966. Services were at the Honquest Funeral Home chapel, Rockford, Ill. Survivors include her husband of 39 years, whom she married March 18, 1967 in Rockford, Gary Heckman Sr.; a son, Gary and Robin Heckman II, Rockton, Ill; a daughter, Sarah and Charles Dean, Greenville, Ga.; grandchildren, Alison Heckman, Garrett Heckman, Rachel Heckman, Aidan James, and Brianna Dean; and best friend, Linda Abbott Hawk. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
