• Air Force Airman Jason S. Ali-Talha has arrived for duty at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Goldsboro, N.C. Ali-Talha, an aerospace propulsion apprentice, is assigned to the 4th Component Maintenance Squadron. He is the son of Larbi and Laura Ali-Talha of Fayetteville, Ga. The airman is a 2003 graduate of Lovejoy High School, Hampton, Ga.

• Army Pvt. Duncan J. Conner has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman. He is the son of Alan Conner of Peachtree City, Ga. and Tammy Rogers of Cullman, Ala. Conner is a 2006 graduate of Starr's Mill High School, Fayetteville, Ga.
