Fayetteville First Baptist Church is offering a new GriefShare session, a 13-week Bible-based program for those who have lost a loved one. The new session will meet on Tuesday nights from 6:30-8 p.m. beginning Tuesday, Jan. 9.

Each class begins with a video and is followed by a time of discussion and sharing.

“GriefShare is a safe haven where everyone there understands what you are going through,” said a recent participant. “It is a tremendous support when you’re walking through the grief of losing a spouse, a child, a parent, a sibling or a close friend.”

GriefShare is open to anyone in the community and surrounding areas. People of all ages and situations have received help and support through the classes. Even those whose losses are not recent have benefitted from attending GriefShare.

“If you have experienced the loss of a loved one, you are encouraged to join this new session on Jan. 9,” a spokesperson said. “If you know someone who is experiencing grief, get them plugged in to this valuable resource in our community.”

The class will be led by Paul and Mary Ellen Ashworth, Jenny Muller and Gena Turner and will meet in Room A-101 in the First Baptist Church Worship Center building, 205 E. Stonewall Ave. in Fayetteville, just a block from Courthouse Square.
