On New Year’s Eve, Truett’s Grill will host a family-friendly alternative to the typical New Year celebration. From 6 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2006 – 12 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2007, the restaurant will host its Third-Annual New Year’s Eve Celebration, complete with a countdown and Nugget Drop.

The highlight of the evening will take place during the New Year’s Eve countdown and will feature a giant Nugget Drop to welcome in 2007. The structure is nearly six feet tall and sculpted to appear like a real Chick-fil-A® Chicken Nugget. The Nugget will be lifted and also dipped into a faux honey mustard container to complete the official countdown.

In addition to the Nugget Drop, the restaurant will host a variety of fun-filled activities for all ages. The activities include:
• Inflatable games and bounce houses
• Game tent featuring arcade-style games
• PlayStation and Xbox Tournament by Blockbuster Video
• Carousel
• Multi-media stage with performances by local bands
• Mimes, stilt walkers and clowns
• Skateboarding exhibition
• Limo rides around the McDonough square
• Prizes and giveaways

Although the restaurant itself will be closed, the Ola High School Marching Band will provide catering services from 6 p.m. – 12 a.m. Additionally, a silent auction will take place inside the restaurant from 6 p.m. – 12 a.m. Several local non-profit organizations, schools and churches will have items up for bidding. All profits from each organization’s items will directly benefit that particular group.
