The National Soccer Coaches Association of America and adidas recently congratulated former Fayette County Lady Tiger soccer player Staci Pugh for her selection to the All South region team for 2006. The coaches in Georgia award this honor based on Pugh’s play as the goalkeeper for the 2006 FCHS Lady Tigers soccer team which went to the Elite 8 in the AAAAA state tournament. Pugh is now playing for the Kennesaw State Owls. She is ranked as the #5 goalkeeper in America. It is an honor to be recognized in this manner as many of the players in this years’ NCAA Women’s Soccer Final Four and on the U.S. women’s national team have been recognized before. Former Fayette County girls soccer coach Ben Thacker, L, and current girls soccer coach at Fayette County Mike Grabhorn presented Pugh with the award this week. Photo/Michael Boylan.
