It was quite a party to remember. But not for the usual reasons. Fayetteville police responding to a loud music complaint Dec. 13 at Cobblestone Apartments came away with 12 people arrested on drug or alcohol charges.

Police answered the complaint at 1701 Cobblestone Boulevard at approximately 1 a.m., said Public Information Officer Beverly Trainor. Upon their arrival, officers found a party in progress. Officers knocked and spoke with one of the renters who invited them inside, Trainor said. Police could smell suspected marijuana prior to entering the apartment, she said.

A check of those in attendance resulted in the arrest of 12. Others at the party were not breaking the law, Trainor said.

Those arrested included 19-year-old Danielle Nichole Mitchler, of Peachtree City, on charges of marijuana possession and possession of alcohol by a minor;

Stephanie Michelle Holcombe, 20, of Fayetteville, for possession of marijuana and possession of alcohol by a minor;
