The award winning, internationally acclaimed, Song of Atlanta Show Chorus, along with their guests, The Atlanta Vocal Project, will perform a holiday concert at The Coweta Centre for the Performing and Visual Arts on Saturday, Dec. 16 at 8 p.m.

The 100 voice Song of Atlanta ladies chorus will return to the stage at The Centre once again to blend beautiful harmonies of holiday selections. The group performed to a near sell out crowd last year. The Song of Atlanta Show Chorus has recently returned from International Competition in Las Vegas, Nevada with a twelfth place finish. Song of Atlanta will be joined by one of their own award winning quartets, From the Heart, made up of members of the Song of Atlanta Chorus and Smokey Mountain Harmonies chorus from Knoxville, Tenn.

As an added treat for the evening, Song of Atlanta will be bringing along the award winning men’s chorus, The Atlanta Vocal Project. The Atlanta Vocal Project is under the direction of Master Conductor Clay Hine. The group has recently returned from The Barbershop Harmony Society’s International Competition as the tenth place chorus. AVP is currently working on a brand new CD of holiday favorites. The groups plan to combine on the show for several numbers that will showcase the best in men’s and ladies’ barbershop harmony.

The evening promises to be very entertaining for all ages with close harmony in song and holiday spirit. Tickets for the show are available by phone at 770-254-2787, at The Centre on Lower Fayetteville Road in Newnan, at Scott’s Bookstore in downtown Newnan and at Morgan’s Jewelers on the bypass in Newnan. Ticket prices are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Proceeds from the show will be used to enhance student programming at The Centre for Performing and Visual Arts.
