The tradition of “giving back” to the community continued again this year with the 11th annual Noel November which was held November 12th at the Kiwanis Fairgrounds in Fayetteville. This spectacular event raised $35,000 for four local organizations which included the Fayette Family YMCA, Fayette Senior Services, Fayette Youth Protection Home and the Promise Place. Each year, the Fayette County Board of Realtors‚ coordinates and sponsors this unique charity event with the help of local citizens, companies, and organizations who donate Christmas trees, wreaths, and decorations for auction. In addition, there were numerous Bell Sponsors who generously gave money to benefit the event. This daylong event began with a preview of items donated for auction along with festivities for the benefit of the community children. The day of entertainment included performances from local children’s groups, festive arts and crafts and a very special visit with Santa Claus, Dick Steele of Market Street Mortgage. This year the children also received complimentary photographs with Santa Claus, courtesy of photographer Russell Hightower, of Hightography in Peachtree City. The jovial evening event began with a very special musical performance by the Coyote Band, with players from the Peachtree Wind Ensemble, conducted by John Miller. Another special prelude to the auction was the awesome performances from the dancers of Carla’s Dance Factory in Fayetteville. Stephen Walker, of Prudential Georgia Realty, and Kris Milner, from Bank of America Mortgage, were the Noel November co-chairs who presented the awards for best trees and arrangements. The following participants were awarded for their creative efforts: Most Festive Arrangement ~ “Nutcracker Set & Wreath” ~RE/MAX Around Atlanta – All Stars Most Creative Tree ~ “Shop Til You Drop” ~ The Home Source Realtors Best Small Tree ~ “The Nosegay Tree” ~ ERA Jo-Par Realty Children’s Award ~ “The Grinch” ~ Tri-City Realty Outstanding Theme Tree ~ “There are Angels Among Us” ~ The Complete Insurance Source People’s Choice ~ “Red Elegance” ~ RE/MAX Around Atlanta - Results Judge’s Choice ~ “Elegant Dining” ~ HomeBanc Mortgage Special Recognition ~ “Yellow Ribbon Tree” ~ Martin Homes Bill MacDonald, the event’s auctioneer, donated his time again this year to lead the auction into the remainder of the evening. Without his continued support and talent, this event could not been a success. Gratitude to the many volunteers for helping with Noel November was echoed by Cheri Scranage, the 2005 President of the Fayette County Board of Realtors‚ in her program remarks she stated, “Stephen Walker and Kris Milner, along with the multitude of tireless volunteers of the Noel November Committee, are to be congratulated and thanked for their undying enthusiasm and hard work in preparing for this year’s event. Thank you to each of them, along with the Realtors, Partners and Affiliates of the Fayette County Board of Realtors‚ and their families who have volunteered their time and talents to make this evening a success”. login to post comments |
