Courthouse at Water Lace
With two pristine lakes and over 100 acres of green space, Macauley’s new community in Fayette County, WaterLace, is all about enjoying the simple pleasures in life. And now, with the newest addition to the community, a replica of the historic Fayette County courthouse, children will have hours of wholesome fun playing in this charming playhouse. Award-winning developer Macauley had the winning bid for the child-sized replica of the courthouse in Home Aid Atlanta’s Project Playhouse auction, on October 21, 2006.
The playhouse is 20 feet tall and will initially be located at the sales center for the Reflections neighborhood in WaterLace. Later, it will be moved to the Children’s Play Park at The Lake Club.

“The Fayette Country courthouse is the oldest courthouse in the state of Georgia and, we think, the most charming. We just thought this would be a wonderful way to honor the heritage of the Fayette area by adding it to our community,” said Stephen Macauley, founder of Macauley. Additionally, we wanted to support Home Aid Atlanta and all their hard work in helping the homeless.”

WaterLace, when completed, will offer many amenities to enjoy the two pristine lakes at the heart of the community including, The Lake Club at WaterLace - the centerpiece of the community’s social activities – which will feature a Nantucket-inspired Lake Cottage, a 5-lane Lap Pool, a zero-entry Splash Pool, 4 Tennis Courts with Pavilion, an Amphitheatre with Fire Pit and an Event Lawn.

For children there is a Play Park, which will include the Fayette County Playhouse. Other unique aspects of the community include a Garden Sculpture Walk, which connects the two lakes, as well as a swimming dock.

At this time, builders David Weekley Homes and Peachtree Residential have begun construction in Windsail, with homes priced from the mid $400s.

In 2007, a group of custom builders will offer homes from the $600s in Reflections, a new neighborhood adjacent to The Lake Club. WaterLace is conveniently located in Fayetteville, just south of GA Highway 54 and near the Fayette Pavilion Shopping Center and Piedmont Fayette Hospital. Cleveland Elementary and the new Bennett’s Mill Middle School are within walking distance of the community, as is the Fayette Family YMCA.
