Motivational speaker and psychotherapist Anthony Galie pleased and amazed members and guests at the Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgia’s November meeting with demonstrations of hypnotic suggestions, illustrating the power of the subconscious in an individual’s personal and business life.

After two qualifying demonstrations involving the entire audience, Galie singled out seven “volunteers” with what he described as unusually good powers of visualization, and therefore, according to Galie, good subjects for hypnotism.
Prior to putting them into a hypnotic trance, Galie promised the seven participants – four men and three women - that they would not be embarrassed or humiliated in any way and that they would not be asked to do anything they would be uncomfortable doing in a conscious state. He kept his word, but the almost incredible demonstrations of the power of hypnotic suggestion carried out by the participants brought “oohs” and “ahhs,” chuckles and sometimes peals of laughter from the delighted audience.

One young woman searched the stage thoroughly - and in vain - for her shoe, although she held it tightly in her left hand.
Responding to suggestions that they were on a hot, sunny beach on a humid day, the hypnotized collaborators fanned themselves and wiped perspiration from their brows. Galie pointed out that the participants average body temperature was going up two-to-three degrees. Likewise, with the suggestion that they were on a cold mountaintop with the temperature dropping suddenly, Galie’s hypnotized volunteers shivered and hugged themselves to keep warm. Each person’s body temperature was dropping, according to Galie, just as it had increased “on the beach.”

One male participant became convinced that his name was “Mary” and would not believe otherwise, even when a friend in the audience reminded him repeatedly that his name was “Jim.”

With those and other convincing demonstrations, Galie’s entertaining presentation and the enthusiastic, good-humored participation of the hypnotized volunteers made the point that the subconscious mind is an incredibly powerful force that goes largely untapped in our day-to-day lives.

A program of setting personal goals, Galie said, along with unleashing the power of the subconscious mind to reach those goals, enables individuals to achieve what they want in life, whether its losing weight or accomplishing business objectives.

HBA of Midwest Georgia Executive Officer Sandy Boda, who had seen Galie’s presentation at a business conference several years ago and who arranged the local appearance, said that the speaker’s insights into the power of the subconscious mind was a life-changing experience for her and that she was pleased that the association had the opportunity to share it with others.

Members of the HBA of Midwest Georgia and guests were obviously pleased with the presentation, which was sponsored by North Georgia Brick. They lingered long after the event was over to express their delight and amazement, and there were long lines to purchase copies of the speaker’s autographed books, audiotapes and DVDs.

As a lecturer on “The Subconscious Aspects of Business,” Galie regularly appears before major industrial, manufacturing and business associations, medical groups and major corporations. His clients include Prudential Insurance, FedEx, Wal-Mart, Sprint, State Farm and the National Association of Homebuilders, among others.
