Video games are in vogue for burglars this season

Arrests are pending for five Palmetto juveniles on charges stemming from burglaries of two residences last month.

A homeowner on Carlton Drive interrupted a Nov. 6 burglary upon arriving at the residence. The perpetrators had busted a sliding door in the rear of the house to gain entry, said Det. John Cooper. the homeowner found that an Xbox 360 video game console had been stolen, Cooper said.

Earlier the same day a Wild Cherry Court residence was burglarized, said Cooper. Items taken included an Xbox, laptop computer, camcorder, Nintendo and Sony hand-held video games, Nike Jordan tennis shoes and jewelry.

Investigations revealed that five juveniles were suspected of the burglaries, Cooper said. Arrests in the cases are now pending, he said.

Palmetto police officers assisted in obtaining information relating to the burglaries, Cooper said.
