What to do? That was the question put to property owner Iliana Huerta over a potential condemnation of a house at 506 Griffith Street.

Determined to be unsafe for human occupancy, the council gave Huerta 30 days to reach a decision to remodel the house, have it demolished or have the city tear it down and put a lien on the property to cover the expense.

City Building Inspector Michael Johnson issued a Nov. 20 complaint citation stating that the structure was in violation of city codes. The value of the house was placed at less than $10,000. The value was estimated at approximately $100,000 if the owner elects to have repairs done.
