The 8U division of PHA is a learning division. The players play regulation games with referees but no score is kept during the regular season games.

The tournament, however, is played with scoring and statistics and the 8U final ended with first place – 8U Red Devils and second place – 8U Boom. The Devils took 17 shots and the Boom took 15 shots. Point Leaders were Andrew Hughes (5G, 1A), Jack Driggs (1G, 4A), and Zach Pina (2G, 2A). All players received either a participation medal or trophy from the tournament.

During the season, Age Group Coordinator Tom Kane wanted the division to emphasize fun as well as learning so he organized a group/family trip to a Thrashers game. There also was an after season skill competition and cookout which included a goalie competition, an accurate shot contest, team relay races, skating speed gun tests, and a drag-your-coach chariot race. Chefs George & Elaina Weyl cooked up the fixings and the players enjoyed cookie cake for desert. A great time was had by all.

The championship 14U game was intense. Tied at 1-1 after the first period and 2-2 after the second period, it was not until 1:15 left in the third period that the Greyhounds took the lead with a goal scored by Brandon Hall (assisted by Andrew Sanders and Cameron Merritt). The 14U final ended Greyhounds - 3, PTC Ice Dogs -2. The point leader for the game was Sanders with three assists. The Greyhounds took 16 shots on Timothy Schnaible and the PTC Ice Dogs took 10 shots on Matthew Maginniss. Congratulations to Hall for winning the President’s Cup Award.

Hats off to DJ Rodriguez for winning the Gretzky Award with 24 assists. Schnaible took home the Williams Body Words Goalie Award with a save percentage of 84.73%. Regular season standings: first – Cyclones, second – Greyhounds; point leaders - Rodriguez, Sam Lisicia and Sanders.
Open registration for PHA will be held on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007 at Kedron Fieldhouse from 9:30 a.m-1 p.m.
