East Coweta boys swim team won two meets in a row

On Nov. 29, the ECHS Swimming Indians participated in a tri-meet against Carrollton and Holy Innocence High Schools. The Indians placed second in the overall competition. However, the boys placed first. There were exceptional first place swims by Jake O’Brien in the 100 breast and Jamie Wright in the 100 and 200 free. There were also outstanding runner-up swims by Jason Weeks in the 50 and 100 free and Alex Kralman in the 200 free and breast. Philip Babb achieved runner-up in the 100 fly and Krystal Hynson in the 500 free.

The Carrollton Invitational was held on Dec. 2 and 3. The Indian boys won against 18 area high schools. The Indians as a team placed third overall. One highlight of the meet was when the Boys 200 free relay team of Jason Weeks, Kevin Wiley, Robert Angsten and Jamie Wright made the state cut with a time of 1:39.44.

The Indians placed again and again in the Invitational.

Senior Captain Eric Arnold placed second in the 500 free. Freshman, Connor Ford, received third place in the 100 fly. Alex Kralman achieved third place in the 100 breast, Jamie Wright received third in the 100 and 200 free and Jason Weeks made third in the 100 back.
The Indians celebrated by throwing the Coach, Darrell Hynson in the pool. It was an exciting weekend for the Indians.
