Tracy Estabaya of McIntosh High School has been been selected as first place award winner in the 2006-07 Foreign Language Poster Contest sponsored by the Georgia Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. Students from all areas of the state submitted entries related to the theme, “Discover Languages—Discover the World!”

Estabaya’s sponsor for the event is Shannon Knight of McIntosh High School foreign language department.

Posters were evaluated for creativity in interpretation of the designated theme and overall visual appeal in the artistic rendition. Estabaya’s poster incorporated a colorful display of images from nature, crafts, sports, cuisine and the arts as vivid examples of the treasures awaiting discovery in the Hispanic world. She received a cash prize and commemorative certificate. Images of this year’s winning posters are posted on the AATSP GA Chapter Web site www.aatsp-ga.org.
