Janet Irene Holcomb, 69, died Nov. 30, 2006. She was born Aug. 20, 1937 in Fulton County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Holcomb, in 1991. She was retired with 40 plus years of service to Alterman Foods-SuperValu in Atlanta. She was an active tennis player and a member of ALTA and USTA. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Wally Woodcock officiating. Interment was at Mellwod Cemetery, Stone Mountain, Ga. Survivors include sons, Greg and Chris; a daughter, Connie; grandchildren, Katie, Kristin, Rick, and Michael; a great-granddaughter, Ansley; step-children, Ricky, Randy, Rusty, Roger, and Robin Holcomb; her mother, Irene Merck; a brother, Carlton; and sisters, Brenda, and Jackie. Memorial donations may be given to the American Lung Association. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
