Katie Vallatares, age 5, represented her family at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic church by receiving a loaf of bread for her family’s Thanksgiving dinner. The bread was disbursed at a special morning Mass. The tradition of providing bread for Thanksgiving meals in the parish began several years ago when the service was held in St. Mary’s old “tin barn.” A new church building is presently under construction and is scheduled to open within the next few months.
