By: The Citizen
Providence United Methodist Church invites the community to “Breakfast in Bethlehem,” a Christmas experience planned for this Saturday, Dec. 9, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. “This will be a chance to take a walk back in time with your children and experience what Bethlehem might have been like during the time that Jesus was born,” explains Kathi Sewak, children’s minister. “Children will make their own clay pots or help make a mosaic, smell the aromas of different herbs, see frankincense and myrrh, visit different shops and learn about the way of life in Biblical times from the shopkeepers.” Also, children can view a live Nativity scene, pet animals in the stable and have story time while waiting for pictures with Santa. Breakfast will be available at the Farmers Market and breads made with authentic old recipes will be available in the bakery. Breakfast reservations are required and the cost is $5 per family. For reservations, call the church, 770-719-8800, or e-mail Kathi Sewak at provkids@bellsouth.net. Check out the Web site at www.provumc.com for more information. Providence is at 592 Bernhard Rd., between Redwine Road and Ga. Highway 85. login to post comments |
