A Fairburn man has been arrested on charges of possession of 29 small bags of suspected marijuana with intent to distribute. Three other males were present in the vehicle, stopped by Fairburn Police Nov. 8 at Cambridge Faire Apartments. Police found the man’s one year-old sister in the vehicle.

Tarvell Jermaine Morrison, 19, was charged with possession with intent to distribute, reckless conduct involving a child and loitering, according to Sgt. Quinton Garrett. Also charged with reckless conduct involving a child and loitering were Fairburn residents, Timothy Bradford, 19, Jamal Hill, 19, and a 15 year-old male, Garrett said.

The incident began when Officer Sanita Hamptom responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle in the apartment complex, said Garrett. Hamptom stopped the vehicle as Garrett arrived at the scene, reports said. The occupants were instructed to exit the vehicle after Garrett smelled a strong odor that was consistent with burning marijuana, Hampton said.

Inside the vehicle officers found a clear plastic bag in Morrison’s jacket pocket containing 29 small bags of suspected marijuana. The small bags were clear Ziplock-type bags with Batman symbols, according to reports.

Also found in the vehicle was Bradford’s one year-old sister. Bradford was the driver of the vehicle, reports said. The small child suffered no apparent physical harm.

Hampton and Garrett took the four males into custody and contacted the child’s mother. The one year-old and the 15 year-old male were released to the little girl’s mother, reports said.
